The work I create as an Artist is produced by two methods. By lo-technology or in other words, pictures made by hand. These include pencil pictures, oil pastel pictures (the pastels are blended with environmentally friendly thinners made from oranges) mixed media, fabric paint, and textile art, which includes Hand painted silk scarves, and wall hangings The second method I use is hi-technology, using computer software, photos and scanned hand drawn images (my own) to produce my digital collection of digital images. Both types of art are available as limited and open edition, archival quality giclée prints, as wells as note cards, greeting cards and notelets. Greetings text can also be added to the cards. I use several ranges of paper for the cards including “acid free” paper from managed forests, “acid free” photo card, fine art papers made from FSC paper, and also from 100% cotton rag, one range of which is made from recycled cuttings from cotton fabric used to make clothes. These Fine Art papers are made to last a long time. The inks used to print my cards and notelets and the giclée prints are water based and are very durable; the vibrancy of the colours should last at least 75 years and possibly up to 200 years before they may start to fade. |

As a dress designer/dressmaker rather than a dressmaker, I design the clothes, make the patterns and make the clothes. Designer/maker is a broad term that includes craft disciplines, such as furniture, pottery, jewellery and textiles. I am a designer/maker who works with textiles If you want a garment made from a pre-purchased paper pattern or if you want alterations, please search for a dressmaker who does that work; it is not what I do. I use quality fabrics in my designs and I can create “one-off dresses” for you from a range of “eco fabrics” and/or hand woven materials including silk, bamboo and hemp fabrics, peace silk, organic cotton, wools from the UK and the Himalayas as well as handmade lace trimmings. My objective is to create classic hand made clothes, unique designs for clothes that cannot be found elsewhere, either as one-offs or small editions, especially bias cut dresses and soft, fluid clothes If you are looking for a modest wedding dress, a simple wedding dress or just elegant bridal wear such as a suit for a simple ceremony, I may be able to help. This image, Linked II, represents unification of diversity. Individual colours of a rainbow are refracted expressions of light. The rainbow colours of Linked II are dulled and their natural order is misplaced, like a mundane low, but they are still symbolically linked, by their common source. |

I avoid using unnecessary packaging, but where it is needed I favour packaging from re-used, recycled or sustainable sources.
